China August 2007
The final countdown(three weeks from today I will be on the plane for Beifing) The big question today is how to get to JFK from here. The best way is to rent a car from Albany. My wife Kathleen is willing to drive me but it would take her over 8 hrs and about $50 in gas and tolls,I think the best way is to; rent a car for about $60 plus $25 for gas and tolls..WE will see. I hope to go into Tibet but is is a 48 hr train ride from Chengdu in a sleeper and the plane is a bit too expensive.-Tim ps this is only practice the real stuff will come after Augusty8th

Countdown to China 2007
I hope I can improve my Chinese by going to China alone-I have rented an apartment in Chebgdu for US$100/mo-I am now looking for someone there to help me learn Chinese. There are 5 weeks befor I leave for China. Our visas are at the Chinese embassy in New York city and I can track them on the webb,I have almost 100 yuan in Chinese money-that is about US$10 but I can use my visa when I get there to get cash. There is much to do here befor I go,cut wood paint the house and other jobs-thanks for looking at my blog-Tim
