Tall bamboo on the road to the top of the Purple Mtn. The cable car did not run today because of high wind so we had to hoof it. When we got down there wer no taxis so we had to walk another mile to a major road,we did manage to buy a coke at a gulf course for about 40 cents-highway robery -cokes usuallly cost about 30 cents American.
This seems to be the way they camp in China, We have seen modern dome style tents in department stores, but have seen none of these in woods. As you can see hard bed of cardboard on pillars of bricks. Taken on top of purple mtn.

The new with the old in downtown Nanjing-A very nice tree lined city-with a 24 km wall around it. It is said to be one of the longest city walls in the world. Nanjing is the home of where the first republic of China was founded by Dr Sun in 1912.
A niceee spring day in Nanjing-We even get up courage to take a taxi ride to get KFC. Maybe take a paddle boat tomorrow. More people ask to take pictures with. I love the Chinese women, very pretty and friendly .
