Here you see a view of downtown Shanghai-The round bildg. is the Art M.-Shanghai is a country to itself,very cleen and friendly. The people even have their own brand of Chinese. It is said to be the safest city in China with about 18 million people. The road to the Top

Tall bamboo on the road to the top of the Purple Mtn. The cable car did not run today because of high wind so we had to hoof it. When we got down there wer no taxis so we had to walk another mile to a major road,we did manage to buy a coke at a gulf course for about 40 cents-highway robery -cokes usuallly cost about 30 cents American. Posted by Picasa

Camping in China

This seems to be the way they camp in China, We have seen modern dome style tents in department stores,but have seen none of these in woods. As you can see hard bed of cardboard on pillars of bricks. Taken on top of purple mtn. Posted by Picasa
On top of the Purple Mtn in Nanjing-Kathleen sleeping now after the long walk up and down the Mtn. It was too windy so the cable car did not run. Later we will go to Starbucks for Coffee and bun. We will meet our new Tai friend tonight for supper at the Confucus Temple. Posted by Picasa

The new with the old in downtown Nanjing-A very nice tree lined city-with a 24 km wall around it. It is said to be one of the longest city walls in the world. Nanjing is the home of where the first republic of China was founded by Dr Sun in 1912. Posted by Picasa

A niceee spring day in Nanjing-We even get up courage to take a taxi ride to get KFC. Maybe take a paddle boat tomorrow. More people ask to take pictures with. I love the Chinese women,very pretty and friendly . Posted by Picasa
