The Great Flood

Some of the houses that will be replaced by water in a year or so-the river was at about 145 meters and will rise to 175 meters so it will go up another 30 meters or about 90 feet Posted by Picasa

Fishing Boat

I do not know how many shots you want to see of the river-The great dam project will move over a million people out of their homes, some go to Shanghai and to Beijing and some to other places-the move is by lottery with out regard to family so mother and father might be in Beijing while son and daughter might be sent to Chengdu . Posted by Picasa

The River Trip

Really if any one wants to do this trip let me know-my visa is good until August 1st-I guess if you want to spend a week in China and take this trip it would cost about $1200. My e-mail is W3hhn@yahoo.com The 5 star American boat costs $1200 and air fair about $1000 which would bring the trip to $2200. I am crazy about boats and the only reason we Did not take this boat was because we did not have enough money. Posted by Picasa

Yangtze River Trip

The mighty Yangtze river-This is a shot of our sister river boat-we tied up every night beside this boat-it is a blast taking a Chinese boat-first of all they do not speak English and I do not speak Chinese-second of all the food is Chinese-don't get me wrong,I like Chinese food but how do you tell the cook what you want to eat? I hope that some of the photos can tell the story of our trip down the river(the price without food was $125 5 nights and 4 days) I would do it again any one want to go with me? The food for the whole trip was less then $50 if you eat at the ship's resturant(some times we eat chees sandwitches in our room) Posted by Picasa

Home at last

We got back to our Stillwater,Ny home about 12pm June 3rd after spending the night with our son in NY City-I have more photos to post but am too tired to download them. We would like to go back to Chengdu China in the fall to help with the teacher training in the Chengdu so I am starting to save for this trip- I came back with $150. I will put this money for seed money in the bank account for the China fund,I know there is about $50 in the piggy bank and I can usually find another $100/mo to save . This would give us about $600 for the fund by October. We would need a minimum of $2000 to be able to go. If you would like to make a donation to this fund you could send a small amount to me (Tim Young) at 64 Putnam Rd Stillwater Ny 12170 If you are interested in sending tax exempt amounts to the Chengdu Waldorf Waldorf School, please contact me for information. I will keep you posted on how the fund is progressing-I would also like to thank the follwoing Waldorf Schools for sending money and supplies with us for the work in China. Richmond,Va-Saratoga Springs,Ny-Princeton,Nj and Harlemville,Ny-thankyou thank you-Tim Young for the China work.
